Welcome to a new world

Hi guys

Today I am incredibly tired after a massive thunderstorm went through the area. Went on for a good 4 hours from start to finish and my power went out leaving the UPS and my cordless phone beeping because they felt like they were dying. Perhaps in the sense of battery life, they were.

I logged on to WoW last night and got a ping of 86. I am both happy and sad with this, I should be absolutely grateful, and for the servers and a much reduce ping, I am! What I am not happy about is the fact mine is so much higher than everyone elses, and that isn't Blizzard's fault. I am blaming it on location as the main point.. living out woop woop, we tend to have less options and high latency, I am also a few kms from the exchange which wouldn't help myself either. Then, to top it all off, I am not with Telstra who own the phone lines so whether that also changes things I am not sure.
Perth and other areas experience around 50-60ms, so getting 26ms extra isn't really unexpected, I guess I was just hoping that it would be slightly less so I didn't feel disadvantaged even more for not living in a city... joys of small towns!

I have asked people on my fb page who I know live in WA what ms they get, speed and provider just so I can try and work out whether it is a problem with my net, or if it's a standard around my area..

I didn't get much of a chance to experiment with the latency in raids etc, we had a shutdown and I kind of wasn't in the mood to do anything but Celestials while listening to music.

In other news, I read the manga for Naruto today which was just released and is rumoured to be the 2nd last chapter, EVER. I was a bit surprised, but also not that surprised with the ending of this chapter, or anything in it for that matter. The story line has always been set in the way it seems to be going, I just know that no matter what the ending is, I'll be left asking questions about other aspects of the manga - more of what happens to the other characters, etc. Since I haven't seen what is in the last manga and the date it's due out is meant to be 10th November (not sure if we're skipping a week or chapters finish at 700 and not 699) I can't really comment on my thoughts and feelings as I NEED to know what Kishi is going to include in that final chapter, and after reading 698, my initial thoughts of who lives, dies, carries on etc are all flying around at the moment.

I have been very stressed this week, lots of jobs to do and I feel like I didn't really know what to expect when coming to work and finding out I had a pile of things to do. I hate feeling like I am swamped, and while I was told to not stress and it wasn't that important, I also feel that if it wasn't important, why did it have to be done RIGHT NOW? I like to do things then and there so I am not leaving it to the last minute, so I'm sure you can understand why I freaked out the way that I did. I am just glad that I had my colleague to help, and I guess leave me alone to sort out stuff while she did other jobs, it certainly made it easier. We needed sugar and a lot of it by Monday lunch time!

I realise my blogs have no real structure at the moment, and there isn't usually a lot of WoW related stuff for someone called MonPlaysWoW.. but I expect that to change when WoD comes out and I can take a bunch of screenshots and make comments as I take my time through Draenor. I'd love to go in there and level as fast as I can, but it seems that 1) I don't have the time to take off to level, 2) I need something from WoW now like story lines and fun since levelling every toon under the sun last xpac, 3) my BF is coming for 2 weeks a week and a few days after release, and 4) If I want to blog stuff, I can't really just say I levelled today. I need pics, I need fun stories of levelling, pet battling or dungeons... So slow it goes at least for my first toon ;)

I also have had this weird dream last night which feels like I may have had it before - it's like I am on this computer system and camera is watching us and we have to lock out these bad guys from accessing our system or detecting us on it, and we gotta get into this system which was in Mexico or something. It was so weird and the first time I dreamt about it, it was happy, this time it was fear of being caught or someone getting hurt. I put it down to watching too much Chuck, and updating my Microsoft accounts passwords and checking out the unsuccessful attempts on my account from Mexico, China and Russia. My mind is seriously way too weird sometimes!

I am going out for lunch today which is something my ladies in my family go and do every fortnight. Dad is away working, my grandfather and great uncle are off at Men's Shed and so we go out for a meal! Given that the weather is disgusting, a nice air-conditioned room, nice cold drink and a big lunch is perfect (other than I'll want to sleep the rest of the afternoon!)

Over the next month I will be quite busy indeed. 7th November is Katy Perry, 13th is WoD, BF comes the weekend after that, and then it'll be way too close to Christmas! One thing I am looking forward to is going to Perth Zoo with the BF and maybe even Jamie's Italian in the city because I really REALLY want to check it out. I had to work out bus timetables and which one to catch to get to the train station in Midland, and then where to go etc for the Perth Zoo. Might be easier but a lot more expensive to taxi, or have the (sorry, excuse my language) balls to just drive there myself, but I don't know for certain anywhere around the area... I know Midland/Middle Swan, and Roe Highway/Gr Eastern Bypass area-ish to the International Airport. I am usually on my phone when Dad drives us anywhere, because he is the city driver.

Some people may not know, but I am an only child, so when I go to concerts and stuff it is usually with my parents. We're very close and do a lot of stuff together like going to events or just out to dinner. I even go to dinner at my parents every night - half the time I cook! I have my own house, but as a lot of people with large properties do, the farming kids have a house on the same property or block as their family - we're just not farmers. We own lots of animals, but they come to live and stay until they die of old age - nothing is killed for food here. Ummm yeah that's about it.

Half of my blog was total rambles but eh, it's allowing me to just go BLAHHH on the page and get some things off my chest - maybe not the extent I'd tell my family or friends due to personal reasons or location etc, but it's nice if people are interested in just reading my randomness :)

Hope you guys have a great day, dunno if I'll post tomorrow or Saturday, I have non-alcoholic drinkypoos to have with my lovely friend who is having a baby shower, and some other lovely ladies!

Recap from old blog, and hi!

Hi guys,

Last week it was announced we would be getting our own oceanic hosted realms, lowering my ping approx by 200ms which is awesomely AWESOME. Work started on this last night and if everything goes to plan, should be finished by tonight.

I was invited to go to the event in Sydney but due to a mad Christmas period that starts around August, everything is taking up time - plus I had already booked some time off! I am hoping I get the chance to meet some of the people I have gotten to know and talk to on twitter/facebook. That would be seriously awesome, especially since Blizzcon is out of my budget for a few years.

I am having trouble remembering to blog, mainly because I have to log into my website to do it, not that I didn't have to from wordpress, but at least I had an app I could use on my tablet to blog from. I'll either need to work out a different solution or end up back on wordpress to blog if I want to seriously blog in the future... I honestly don't know how many people check out my new site since it isn't hosted on wordpress anymore. I could also try blogger, which can update on this website, but also be available remotely by apps and what not, so I will give it some thought... blogger does sound like the best option right now as I don't need to change hosting or domains, and it has its own Wix app to integrate into my website! If wordpress had one, I'd go straight back to that, but you gotta do what you gotta do! EDIT: As you can tell, I went to blogger!

A few things I want to think about coming next year is being a bit more into the gaming scene - I have had it suggested to me to do youtube, whether that means I make videos or vlog, I am undecided yet. I have always said I was interested in that, but perhaps when I am in the city. I also feel I don't do enough cool stuff to youtube, but I guess unless I try it I'd never actually know. I have a channel, but haven't made it pretty or anything.

As for real life, I am undecided on what to do. I've become interesting in doing Vet Nursing through TAFE but it requires a lot of practical experience, which isn't something that worries me but I do live an hour away from the closest practice so not only would I have to see whether they'd let me do voluntary prac there, but I'd also need to see if it's worth while spending money on fuel as well as what would I do regarding work? Do I change the number of hours I do? Do I prac on Saturdays? Is this something that is worth spending the money on if I end up not using it?
I mean, when I go to live in Perth there is a chance that I could actually work at a clinic, and I do love animals. My family has had animals of all types for years. When it comes to farm animals, we haven't owned pigs or cows, but our next door neighbour had cows, and my grandparents and a family friend had/has pigs, so I have been around them. We haven't had alpaca/llamas but again, family friend has them. The most common animals I'd probably see would be the cats, dogs and small creatures kinds, maybe even the feathered variety, and I am fine with that because as long as it isn't a spider or snake, I could deal with it (though if it was a python, it would be fine, and if the spider was safe in an enclosure, also fine!).
I have helped Mum with animals, especially giving antibotics in either tablet or paste form when our cats or dog decided to get in a scrap with each other or a stray animal around the farm. I have also helped Mum with needles - she usually gave them, I was just the strength to hang on to the horse or sheep she had to inject!

Christmas is just around the corner which will mean, WoD is out soon, Blizzcon streaming WOO and my BF is coming to stay for a few weeks after uni exams are over and done with. Fun times ahead! Plus family meals :)

It's not really a new years resolution, but I want to blog more, and I also want to lose some weight. Being tall I can hide it, but I am starting to not hide it well at all, and I feel like crap so it's time to do something! I want to not limit myself, but to restrict myself in a way also if that makes sense.. the more I can't have something, the more you bet it'll end up in my mouth by the end of that day... hellllllllo chocolate.

That's about it for now, will work out blogger or whatever and get back to it!
